In this tutorial, we are looking at how to create a team-based review. To get started, click the Add New Review button and give your review a title. We’ve already covered other options such as review frequency — you can check out our video on that topic. Next, I’ll turn off the notification option since I’m recording tutorials, but you can enable both the notification and reminder options. Don’t forget to set the start and end dates for your review. Now we’re in the Review Configuration area. Start with Review Orientation — change it from Organization to Team. Then, select the specific team you want to review. If you’re a manager logged into the system, you’ll only see the teams you manage or lead. That’s how the system enforces the right permissions for reviewing the correct people. In my case, I’m part of multiple teams and also an admin, so I can see all teams. Select the team or teams you want. You can choose multiple if needed, but for this example, I’ll select just one. Next, we move to the Review Type. You’ll see descriptions in orange text explaining each type: 360 Team-Based Review: Comprehensive feedback involving managers, peers, and subordinates. Review Team Leader: Team members provide feedback to their team leader. Review Team Members: Team leaders provide feedback to their team members. Team Leaders and Team Members: Includes both leader and member reviews but not peer reviews. The key difference between 360 and Team Leader/Member reviews is that 360 includes peer feedback. Select the option that works for you. When you go to the next section — Form Templates — you’ll select the templates based on your chosen review type. Now for Assignment Preferences — this is team hierarchy-based, so there’s no need for changes. Under Ownership, you can select additional owners or transfer ownership. For example, I can assign Julie or Kate as the person managing this team-based review. Note that ownership options depend on team association; you can’t assign someone who isn’t the team’s leader. This ensures the system maintains proper checks and balances. You can toggle on E-signature requirements if needed, and under Review Visibility, select whether to share answers or keep them private. Next, choose your templates. Based on the review type, you’ll see options for multiple template types. If you want to include a self-assessment, simply toggle it on and select the appropriate template. Remember — templates are required to launch a review. You can search by name to quickly find the right one, preview it using the eye icon, and then click Create to launch your review.
