In this tutorial, we are focused on the goals module. As a manager, you definitely can see goals that team members have unless the goals are private, in which case you can’t see those goals. But you definitely can see goals that you have created for your team, or organizational goals or goals that you have been involved in. If, let’s say you have been assigned to a goal to work with somebody on, you will be able to see those goals. When you first go to the goals area, of course you have a list of goals. You can delete goals that you have created. So if you have created a goal, someone can check the box here and hit deleted goal. But if you have not created, you’re not a goal creator, you’re not going to be able to delete those. You can see that you can also delete goals that are from your direct reports. (00:53): So that just gives you some control over that. Let’s go to the top right section here. If I click on that, you would be able to search by name of goal by team that it belongs in, and you can actually start narrowing down goals by individual users if you want to, as well as the deadline here. And then of course, if you have any custom filters that you’ve created, you’ll be able to utilize them here on the right side. You can be able to pull goals by deadline, by completion, by active and active status. So a whole range of options here for you to be able to utilize to pull goals. Right now, of course, you have your goals in two main areas, list view, as well as hierarchy view. And these are designed to showcase how goals are connected. So feel free to check out the various goals as well as the various views of those goals. (01:49): And again, this is all dependent on your access rights in the eLeaP PMP system. Let’s go ahead and create a goal. Alright, so to create a goal, we’re just going to go right over here where it says add goal as matter of fact, let me do this. I’m going to go right over here to my goals section here, and then I’ll click right here where it says add goal. Now I have my little document here. So one of the goals is going to be improved customer satisfaction. So of course I will add my goal name here. Set the deadline for the goal so you can have it be as long or as short as you want. These are all based off of the smart goal concept as well as the OKR concept. I’m going to go to see advanced options so that I can post my description right here. (02:42): Now as you can see, this goal can be private, it can be, obviously, you can activate it, you can assign it to people. In this case, I’m actually going to just assign this to myself so that a private goal, it’s a personal goal. And then of course you can always link your goal. So if you want to link this goal, say a company objective, you definitely owe a complete goal. You definitely can do that. And then we’ll hit add goal, right over there. Now we have just made step one, which is adding the goal itself. Step two is to be able to add our key results. Key results are the action points. This is all the measurable parts of our goal. So for example, my goal is to improve customer service. Well, how do I know that I’ve achieved that? Well, that’s because I have achieved a 10% increase in positive customer feedback. (03:30): So that’s one key result. I’ll go in and get another key result right here. Decrease complaints by 15%. Well, that’s another key result. So I’ll go ahead and add that here. And here’s a cool thing, right? Here’s a cool thing in eLeaP. Once you add your key results, you can actually customize those key results. So like right here, decrease customer complaints by 15%, or why not go right over here? And I’ll say, well, you know what? This is a percentage system. It’s going to be based off of 15 items or 15 percentage points. So I’ll go here and I’ll actually add in items here. And every percentage point that I decrease, I can utilize this option here to come in and continue to increment that. So if I decrease it by two percentage points, I can come here and drill down. So this is just giving you some ideas here. (04:23): Achieve 10% increase. So again, you can go right over here and you can utilize the metric option here to change whatever you want that key result to be. Okay, if it’s a social media goal, for example, you can say, look, I want to get 15 mentions, 20 mentions, 50 dimensions in social media or what have you. So you just get a chance to actually go in and change that. As a creator of the goal, you can definitely come in here and manage the goal. If let’s say you want to add more people to this goal, no worries. Just go right over there, hit the additional names, and you’ll be able to add them here. Alright? Now, as you create your goal, don’t forget, you can link and you should link your weekly items to these goals. That allows the system to really, really be utilized to its full capacity. (05:17): So for example, if I adjust this weekly item here and say, look, I want to attach it to this goal. Now you notice right here, when I look at my weekly item here, you notice how it has this little flag. Well, that basically means that this item is now being added to or attached to a goal. So that as I’m working towards achieving these weekly items, I’m also going to be able to show how this moves this goal that I have created. So this is a quick overview of how to utilize the goal system as a manager in the system. And of course, as we see, you’re able to pull down the goals for team members, you are able to actually tag team members in here, have conversations in here with team members to be able to get them to weigh in on this particular goal or this particular key result. And of course, you have options to add attachments, comments as we saw, weekly items as we saw. And then of course, your timeline is sitting there ready for you to get additional data. As usual, if you have any questions about this or any of the features in this system, please do not hesitate to contact us.
