In this tutorial, we are looking at one of the most powerful features in the eLeaP PMP system, which is the goals module. Goals are important because they help to drive performance, they help to set clarity, they help to align what the organization needs to do, to what a team for example, is working on to what an individual is collaborating on and working on. So to get to our goals section, you can always either go from your dashboard here to in a particular goal. So of course if I click on my team goal here, you can tell it’s team goal because of this label here. And of course here are the items here in the team, but you can also, I’m going to open up my menu on the left here. You can just click on a goal section and you’ll be able to go to the goal section. (00:56): Alright, so of course, a couple of things I want to just mention about a goals section. You have it divided into subtypes. So you have the all, which is pretty much all of the goals listed. And then you have only organization wide goals. You have only team wide goals or team level goals. And then any goals that you have either created or are working on at listed in the mind section. Okay. You can also see the goals in the hierarchy view. Right now we are seeing them in the list view. The hierarchy view allows you to be able to see goals that are interconnected and that’s where you see that in the hierarchy view. Alright? And of course in the hierarchy view, there are other things you can do to clu free view and so on and so forth. As well as download your list. (01:43): The three lines here allow you to look at more filtering. So if you want to for example, have a look, see of specific goals that attributed to specific teams, you can do that, the deadline, utilizing the deadline to be able to narrow down those goals as well as being able to use the filtering options here. Okay. And then these quick tabs here, or quick links here, allow you to be able to go straight to, for example, goals that are at race goals are on track goals that are off track goals that have been completed. So as you build out your goals in the system, you’ll be able to utilize these to do a lot more filtering. For the purposes of this, we will go ahead and attempt to create a goal. So I’m going to actually create this goal here called optimize website performance. Alright? (02:32): So I’ll just copy that right quick here. So my goal name, so the goal system in the PMP utilizes the KR methodology or the OKR mindset if you will, which is you have objectives, and then you have key results that go with those objectives. So you have the goal name, which is your objective. We encourage you to add a description. So I’ll actually go in here and add a description right quick because the description helps you to understand why the goal is important and what you are trying to achieve. And then of course each goal needs to have key results. Key results are how you can tell that you are meeting those objectives. Okay? So I’m going to activate my goal here. I can set it to be a private goal if I want to, but I don’t. And then you can also link your goal. (03:28): So if you click here, you’ll be able to say, okay, you know what? Maybe I can link my goal to my team, or I can link it straight to say the organization. So you have an option to be able to do that. Alright? And then let’s go ahead and click add goal. And now our goal is added into the system. Now once the goal is added into the system, we have a final step that we need to take, which is to add these KRS key results. So I’ve clicked right here on my goal and notice I don’t have any key results here. Now, whilst you can have a goal without key results, it is really not advisable because the key results are how you are able to determine progress and you track progress towards that goal. So I just added my key results one, I’ll add another key result here, two, excuse me. (04:18): And so this is my second key result that I’ve added here. Now here’s the thing about key results. And we do have a separate video that shows you how to set the key result settings. So this particular key result says improve uptime by 99%. You can certainly utilize the key results section here to be able to create whatever criteria you are using for making sure that your objective is going to be met. So feel free to, so for example, we can say, look, for every day that we have an uptime record of 99%, we will take that up. So pretty much what that does is each day, each week I can go here and I can increase those. See that that’s how simple it is to use a system to be able to keep track of your key results. And then of course, reduce website load time. (05:16): Well, I do an option to be able to track this too. So of course you set the key results that would work for this, and then you are able to track the key result as you go forth. Alright? Now, if you want to create a goal that you can share with others, you definitely can. It all comes down to how you want to set that goal up. If you want to have a goal, be set up where it is a goal that you want to assign to people, you definitely can do that from the system. So feel free to check all of that out. As usual, if you have any questions about this or any of the features in the system, please do not hesitate to contact us.
