In this tutorial, we want to take you through the gold system. It is one of my favorite tools. What are goals in el? Well, that’s where the system really shines because you are able to create assigned goals, have smart goals, be able to get real progress, not only measured, but also impact on bottom line. So let’s take a look at some examples of goals. We use the OKI methodology, which is basically, it’s been used in different ways, so don’t worry about the acronym per se. The bottom line is you have an objective. What do you want to get done and how do you measure progress? Those are the two conditions. So for example, I have here a marketing objective to increase brand awareness. Well, let’s go here and say marketing objective for, I would say Q4. Make sure that of course you do have your deadline so you can know how well you are doing in general. (01:07): And then at this point you can decide are you assigning it to yourself? Is this something that you want to assign to a team? And the cool thing about the eLeaP system is that you’ve got really flexibility here. You can of course, always also check out the option to assign to an organization, but be very careful because org wide goals basically means that they’re tied to everybody in your account. So for the purpose of this, I’ll go ahead and assign it to myself. I’m going to go to my advanced settings right quick because a couple of things I want to do. I want to activate this, and then I want to add a short little description over here. And then right over here, I can cascade this goal or basically link it to a parent goal. That way I can see how connected my actions are, my team’s actions are to the rest of the organization. (02:00): Then simply hit add goal and the system would create a goal for you in the interface right here. And then of course the next steps will be adding in those key results. Now remember the key results that we have here. For example, achieve 1 million web visitors by end of Q2 or Q3 or Q4, depending on how you want to phrase that. That’s one key results. Simply log it in there and then of course create another key result. I’m using this as an example. Doesn’t mean that you have to do the same thing, but bottom line is you are getting an idea of how the eLeaP Performance Management platform works as regards to goals, adding your key results. We’ll come back and talk about key results settings in a different video, but just know that those are how you get to determine your goal progress. Now, coming back to the goal module here, alright, the goal system is organized in tap. (03:01): So you’ve got all goals, you’ve got organization level goals, you’ve got team level goals, you’ve got goals that you are associated with. And then you can look for specific goals from any of your team members in the people section. You can always click on the three lines here to open up this. And it allows you further filtering. So depending on which tab you are in, you would see those elements there as well as the sort by option. So this allows you to, for example, see goals listed by completion rate and so on and so forth. Alright, so let’s go back to our all and you can always click on the clear to clear out the filtering so that you’re back to where you need to be. Alright, so let’s talk about the statuses of the goal. Okay? We’ve got these levels here or these statuses. (03:52): So on track goals basically means that we project that you should be able to get those goals met by the deadline that you have selected. At risk goals means that you do need to be aware that we are concerned that this goal might not be met. So of course the system is designed to send smart emails out to let you know when those goals are at risk. Okay? Off track goals are essentially talking about goals that have not been a hundred percent completed. Alright? So simply take a look at those and it gives you a chance to go in and some people like to do a postmortem. Just go in there and see why you didn’t get a hundred percent. Now, of course, in this instance here, 92% is nothing to sneeze about. So suddenly be mindful that yes, we are giving you these levels or these statuses, but the bottom line is they are a gauge. (04:50): They’re not going to answer every single question. You have to dig deeper a little bit to get more context on what’s going on. And then of course, the objective of obviously is to be completed or to exceed the gold deadline. So that’s what that is. Now we will do separate videos where we talk about all of the different ways that you can track goals, how you can utilize your weekly status system to work in concert with your goals so that you are able to have tasks attributed to that particular goal on a week to week basis. As well as of course, all of the tracking and analytics that we provide in the eLeaP PMP system. As usual, if you have any questions about this or any other features in the system, please do not hesitate to contact us. I.
